Metalliko. Just outside the city of Kilkis is a red fountain in a beautiful village. The wonderful scenery is completed by the ducks, the geese, the trees and one of the best taverns of Kilkis.
Pikrolimni is located south of Kilkis, near Nea Santa and has an average depth of 1 meter. In summer it is usually dried. It is considered the only lake in mainland Greece with salt water and its bottom consists of clay with sulfur compounds and nitrates. For this reason it has healing and cosmetic properties, while the salinity is three times higher than the Dead Sea! There is a Pilotherapy Center on the lake and in the summer the pilotherapy is performed inside the lake on the specially designed shore.
