Global destination management company, Discova, has announced the appointment of Tom Grapes as the new business development manager for UK and Europe. He steps into the role from 7 September and will be based in the UK.
“I am incredibly excited to be joining the Discova team to help move the business forward into a new chapter, overcome some of the challenges in front of the industry right now and work together with partners on how our unique approach can benefit their customers and their businesses into the future,” Grapes said. Originally from the UK, he has worked in a wide range of roles in the industry and brings with him a wealth of experience.
Starting at the UK’s leading volunteering and youth operators – i to i Volunteering and Real Gap, he cut his teeth across customer service, sales and business development, including spending some time in the US on secondment.
Following over two and a half successful years with these brands – both owned by the TUI group – he moved on to work as an account manager for Flight Centre Travel Group, where he established his credentials and became the highest selling tours and insurance consultant for the business. Most recently, moving across to a product role, Tom managed third party land touring partners before coming product owner for Asia, Europe and Africa.
