All of Marriott International’s properties in the UAE will join efforts to contribute towards Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October to raise funds for Al Jalila Foundation’s ‘Brest Friends’ programme which provides essential support to patients and survivors.
The #PINKtober campaign will see every hotel in Marriott International’s portfolio in the UAE host a variety of activities from pink-themed brunches, afternoon teas and tasting menus to bake sales, raffles, fitness activities and complimentary screenings. Each participating venue will collectively donate a portion of the proceeds from the #PINKtober campaign to Al Jalila Foundation in partnership with ‘Brest Friends’.

“As part of our commitment to fundraising activities and serving the community we are delighted to support Al Jalila Foundation and be a champion for raising awareness and precious funds which are incredibly important for programmes like ‘Brest Friends’. We look forward to welcoming local communities and guests to our hotels across the UAE to enjoy pink-themed occasions and culinary experiences while giving back,” said Guido de Wilde, chief operating officer of Marriott International in the Middle East.
“Breast cancer remains one of the most serious health challenges and we must support medical research to improve survival rates. Every year during October, we receive overwhelming support from the community to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer treatment and research in the UAE. #PINKtober events have the power to bring communities together to champion charitable causes and we are proud of our partners’ extraordinary efforts and philanthropic spirit.” said Dr Abdulkareem Al Olama, chief executive officer of Al Jalila Foundation.
